how do most of you drive ... do you leave the car in d or 3 or do you manually shift?

Only time I ever actually manually shift is at the track and when I'm cruising under 45mph.

Other than that, D. If I wanted to shift, I would have gotten a manual. :p

My transmission bounces between 3 and OD too much when I'm driving around in town if I leave it in D.

I did D for awhile. I just started trying to use 3 but I usually stick it in N when at a stop so I don't have to use the brake to keep the car from idling forward and it supposedly keeps gas use down some. So if in 3 I have to roll it forward two notches to get to N which sometimes I may forget and may roll it into R, so depends on the mood.

Less than 50 mph = 3
More than 50 mph = D

On my car it will shift into OD in D at 45 with Performance Shift on, but when its off it will shift into OD at like 41. I always leave it in D, it saves some gas by keeping the RPM's down when I'm driving around 45 in the city.

I leave it in drive, unless racing or if it's really raining out. Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems a lot easier to keep the tires from spinning off a dead stop when it's really wet in 3 than in D.

Ha, maybe it's just a psychological thing, I should try it.
