wait until you come to a stop to switch back down to first so you dont throw the rpms way up and then that extra jerk on the tranny. I just keep myn in D but if im on the highway and i feel like doing some extra stuped stuff then i put it in 3 otherwise i dont shift 1-3 thats why we have automatics. its just weather you decide to put in into overdrive or not

Similar to others:
under 43mph = 3
43 and over = D
non-HD tranny obviously.

Not that the tranny jumps around too much, I'm just preventing unnecessary shifts in the area that tends to 'go' first on the trannys.

I also tuned the pcm so when I have it in 2, the car stays locked in two no matter what speed (unless I rev it out). This lets me floor it without it shifting into 1st on me. Its pretty fun, and isn't as bad for the car as flooring it in 1st all the time. Great for accelerating through curves in the road and such.

If you have a stock PCM 2 then to 3. If aftermarket PCM leave it in 3!

You can do it while moving or on the gas. If you leave it in "1", the car will stay in first until it hits the redline, and will then shift into second. If you are still in "1" and drop to 35MPH, then the car will downshift into first gear again. If you leave it in "2" then the car will shift normally from first to second, and then won't shift into 3rd, it'll just bounce off the rev limiter. If you leave it in "3" then the car will shift normally through first, second, and into third, but won't shift into OD.

You are simply telling the PCM what gears to shift to, nothing mechanical, so you can do it while you are moving.
